When beginning my fragrance journey, I started with nothing more than a keen desire to learn about the making of beautiful fragrances. I wanted to train with an instructor who has the knowledge, creative passion, and approachability so that my experience would be fun and informative. The Scent Academy's course on Natural Perfumery exceeded my expectations.

Melanie's thoughtfully developed program is excellent for those with minimal knowledge to someone with a vast understanding of essential oils. Her ability to guide you in creating a scent that goes from 'satisfactory' to 'exceptional' is where you find the difference between a teacher who loves what they do and someone proficient but not necessarily passionate.

I've had the pleasure of taking part in a number of By Melanie Jane's courses. The first one, I created a number of products - from scented body lotion to a refreshing body spray. We had an amazing day. Melanie Jane has so much expertise, it's fascinating to learn about oils, where they come from, how rare some are and the health uses. During the first course, it was all women and I really enjoyed the energy of a female-only event - where we took a break for a three course lunch. The venues of the courses are always in amazing places, such as the Burj Al Arab. You meet wonderful people with a passion for scent, but also novices like myself can go along.
